Well it’s that time again! I get so excited unwrapping beauty boxes. Especially ones as beautifully packed as Birchbox. They’re definitely a beauty bloggers dream! I was really impressed with last months Happy Days September box (see full review here). This month’s theme was ‘Work It!’ – products to motivate through the gloomy autumnal months in association with Coppafeel, a charity that works to highlight the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer. My box contained 6 little goodies as well as a lovely pink make-up bag. Once again Birchbox has created a box that is excellent value for money! So I guess your wondering whats inside the box…
Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm
This is a natural nourishing exfoliating cleanser with oatmeal powder and is suitable for all skin types. Massaging this luxurious balm into your skin leaves it feeling baby soft and extremely clean – it removed ALL traces of make-up. The balm is delicately scented but rich. I’ll definitely use this product again. The balm retails for £20.
KMS California Hair Play Dry Wax
This dry wax spray adds ‘second day’ texture to hair with a matte finish. I have really long thick wavy hair… I really didn’t want to add wax to this awful combination so I made my boyfriend try it instead. He loved how it made his hair easy to style and the thick textured finish it gave to his hair. Safe to say it’s now his! The KMS spay was retails for £15.
Shaveworks The Cool Fix
I really didn’t like this product at all. It promises that this genius cooling gel lotion ‘treats ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness after hair removal’. Well I used as directed applying generously to my legs after shaving and it felt like my skin was on fire! I immediately scraped it back off! I obviously can’t recommend this product due to my reaction. The Cool Fix sells for £11 if you’re still interested.
Pixi by Petra Shea Butter Lip Balm
I was very excited to receive this product as I’ve always wanted to try this brand but never got around to it! This is a full size nourishing tinted lip balm in Ripe Raspberry retailing at £8! Similar products usually irritate my lips but this balm left them soft and hydrated. The product is very buildable depending on your desired coverage and colour. It’s also very lightweight, beautifully scented (vanilla, I think?) and long lasting.
Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum
I applied this after I used the Balance Cleanser and was really impressed. My skin looked glowing and I didn’t even want to put my make-up on afterwards! I obviously can’t comment on it’s anti-aging properties after one use but it sinks into skin like a dream leaving skin radiant. This serum is from Dr. Sebagh and Cindy Crawford and retails for £30.95.
Birchbox Lipstick Pen & Make-up Bag
I love Birchboxes’ lifestyle extras as they’re always fun and quirky, this month is no exception! This box also includes a lovely soft pink make-up bag, a lipstick pen plus a 14 day planner to boost your motivation with lots of helpful info from Coppafeel on how to check for signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
