Happy December 1st everybody – the countdown has officially began! Over in my household I’m embarrassed to admit the festivities began a while ago; the tree is already up and decorated, the presents are bought and all wrapped up in beautiful tartan paper and ribbons courtesy of Marks and Spencer and Home Alone has already been checked off my Christmas movies list. In case you didn’t already know – I. Love. Christmas. Like really, really, screaming over the Coca Cola advert, singing Christmas carols after Halloween, wrapping in Novemeber, love, love, love Christmas. Here’s just a few magical things I’m looking forward to doing this month –
Eating Nutella and banana crepes at the Edinburgh Christmas German Market.
Christmas baking – shortbread, cupcakes, gingerbread men, truffles, star topped mince pies, pavlova, rocky road, cookies and tablet are all on my list this year.
Watching ‘Nigella’s Christmas’ on Good Food, it’s an annual tradition even though I now know every recipe off by heart.
Opening my No 7 25 Days of Beauty Treats Advent Calendar – today I received the Skin Illuminator Radiance Boosting Beauty Fluid.
Going up to the labyrinth that is my attic to find my Christmas jumper.
Building my Rocky Road Gingerbread House, the centrepiece of my Christmas Eve party.
Making salt dough Christmas tree ornaments and my own cards.
Organising the family Secret Santa.
Making up a Christmas playlist: I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday – possibly the best Christmas song ever written?
Watching the following: Polar Express, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Grinch, Muppets Christmas Carol, Polar Express, Home Alone 2 & Elf.
Making, and drinking, some Christmas themed cocktails – I had a ‘Jingle Bell’ this weekend at Frankie & Bennys containing Disaronno Amaretto, apple schnapps and Chambord with cranberry juice, it was beautiful!
Yankee Christmas Candles – everywhere!
Getting giddy over TV adverts; Sainsburys and John Lewis – well done!
My Christmas Eve movie night tradition with my little brother – ‘The Santa Claus’ every year!
Drinking a ridiculous amount of hot chocolate and finally getting around to trying an Eggnog Latte from Starbucks.
