Pampering for a Pound is back and this time it features Rimmel & Nivea goodies available at Poundland! To read parts 1-3 which included skincare from St. Ives, Vaseline & hair treatments infused with Argan Oil click here. If this is your first time reading Pampering for a Pound all you need to know is that I love a bargain, and I simply can’t resist a Poundworld, Poundland, B&M, Home Bargain or charity shop without having a nose. It’s very hit or miss but usually I come away with some great little finds so I came up with this series of posts so I could share them with you and help you to snap them up too!
This week I snapped up two Rimmel Salon Pro with Lycra nail polishes in 347 Disco Fever & 312 Ultra Violet (currently retailing for both £4.49 on Boots.com and Superdrug.com), Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Crayon in 013 Teasing Turquoise and Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream (currently retailing for £2.10 on Boots.com).
I love Rimmel nail polishes and jumped for joy when I spotted these two shades which I think are perfect for the darker Winter months ahead. The wide ‘precision maxi brush’ allows for easy, quick and perfect coverage plus the Lycra-infused formula gives a gel-like high-shine finish. I applied each nail with two coats and sealed with OPI Start to Finish which I also highly recommend.
My next product was another Rimmel find, the Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Crayon (rrp £4.49). The stick promises to last 24 hours and is also waterproof. The soft formula glides on smoothly providing long lasting intense colour that doesn’t fade or crease. The stick also comes in Blackmail, Bulletproof Beige, Bad Girl Bronze & Witness White. The thick chubby tip actually allows for a more precise application than you’d first think, it reminds me of the Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in December’s Sophia Webster Birchbox.
And finally the Nivea Caramel Cream Lip Butter. This collection featured highly on My Favourite Beauty Products of 2014 post. The vanilla & macadamia nut version has been in my trusty handbag all autumn/winter and this Caramel Cream version is a delicious addition to my collection! If you can resist licking this off your lips, this butter will help lips to stay hydrated, soft and kissable all through the colder months. The butters also come in original, blueberry blush & raspberry rose, and retail from around £1.50-£2.50 depending on the individual retailer.
What do you think about pound shops – have you picked-up any bargains recently?
