On the 1st of every month you can select two products from their shortlist that you would like to receive, plus a few other extra goodies are also included. To find out more about what other beauty boxes are available click here and if you would like to have a nosey at what I have received previously from You Beauty click here to read last months post. Let’s have a look at what was available in 2015’s first shortlist –
TRESemmé Platinum Strength 60 Second Treatment Shot (15ml)
Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm (30ml) & Overnight Recharge Night Cream (3ml)
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (15ml)
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (30ml)
Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm (4.25g)
Boutique ‘A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss’ Nail Lacquer (11ml)
Boutique ‘Away With the Fairies’ Nail Lacquer (11ml)
Afyna Organic Detoxifying Body Scrub (60ml)
Afyna Organic Detoxifying Body Lotion (60ml)
Unfortunately the Elemis Marne Cream was out of stock before I had time to select my samples otherwise I would have snapped it up right away. I chose the Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm (30ml) & Overnight Recharge Night Cream (3ml) and the Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm (4.25g). I was a little disappointed that I missed out on my Elemis sample, as I’ve already tried it before and loved it! To be honest I didn’t really have high hopes for this month’s box, but after trying my Melting Cleansing Balm I’m so glad I chose it instead!
Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm & Overnight Recharge Night Cream
This cleansing balm is an absolute dream to use! The balm begins to melt as you massage it into dry skin, emulsifying makeup and dirt. It was like applying a serum, it felt warm, rich and luxurious. I was a little worried however about how easy it was going to be to remove. I added water and returned to massaging into my skin, the balm turned into a milk like formula which allowed quick, easy and effective removal! It left my skin feeling so pampered, I didn’t even want to put my makeup on afterwards. After cleansing I applied the night cream for added hydration and moisture. These two products work beautifully together. This is what I love about beauty boxes, being introduced to amazing new brands and companies you may not think to try otherwise. The cleansing balm (100ml) retails for £15.50 and the night cream (30ml) for £33.50 at John Lewis.
Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
This 100% natural lip balm with peppermint and enriched with vitamin E is a very effective soothing lip treatment. I usually opt for a fruity balm rather than mint but the scent is really refreshing and ‘tingly’. My lips felt soft and moisturised throughout the day, the perfect product to protect against chapped and dried out lips this winter. Available at Boots retailing for £3.69.
My box also included three sachets of Dragonfly Tea in Green Gaucho, Mountain Honeybush and Swirling Mist, Dove Youthful Vitality Hair BB Cream (5ml), and a £25 voucher for Hello Fresh, a service that deliver fresh ingredients and recipes straight to your door.
The You Beauty Discovery Box retails for £6.95 and is available online at youbeautydiscovery.co.uk
