I had 200 Birchbox points to spend in their online store last weekend and I bought the Lord & Berry Forever Black Liquid Eye Liner. I thought I’d take a gamble and redeem my points on a brand I have no experience or knowledge of, a little risky but hey, it was a freebie! I’d recently ran out of my e.l.f. liquid liner (my absolute favourite – only £1.95!), but now their distribution in the UK has came to an end I had to come up with an alternative fast.
Lord & Berry originated in Milan in 1992 were this niche beauty brand made it’s impact both backstage and on the catwalks of international fashion weeks. Lord & Berry’s line of cosmetics ooze contemporary glamour; edgy and yet sophisticated at the same time. I love simplicity of the sleek black packaging, for me it gives a timeless quality to their products and helps to establish that ‘premium’ feel to their collection.
The ‘pen-like’ applicator is very similar to my e.l.f. liner. The delicate pointed tip allows for precision and the formula glides across the upper lashline effortlessly. The matte black liquid is quick drying, waterproof and incredibly long lasting. Unlike my e.l.f. liner the formula is heavily pigmented giving a razor sharp edge which looks both dramatic and professional on the first stroke of the brush. With a steady hand, which sadly a lot of the time I lack, a smooth bold line can be created easily thanks to the long handled wand, soft tip and high pigmentation.
As shown above with different movements, strokes and pressure the tapered tip can create both subtle and bold lines depending on your preference. As I mentioned before the liner is waterproof and long lasting so I’d recommend my No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover (£8.50/100ml). The remover is really gentle to my sensitive skin, although it is a little oily so this may put people with certain skin types off. The ‘oily’ formula is surprisingly not greasy, it enables my makeup to simply slide off without any excess oil or residue. The Forever Black Liquid Eye Liner (£15) is a welcome addition to my makeup bag and a far superior replacement to my original liner I can’t wait to see what else the Lord & Berry collection has to offer.
Have you tried the Forever Black Liquid Eye Liner or any other products in the Lord & Berry collection? I’d love to hear your thought and recommendations.
