My favourite product in this month’s box were these Mango & Pineapple oat bars. Full of natural ingredients, including real pieces of juicy fruit and slow release energy oats, these bars are packed full of fibre and contain no added sugar. The conveniently packaged single bars are perfect for those prone to eating breakfast on the go and taste refreshingly zingly and sweet (not dry and stodgy like some similar products on the market) and also help to keep you fuller for longer.
Complete Energy Bites (£1.99)
Complete bites are pre-workout chocolates infused with caffeine. In fact, just one bite contains the same amount as 1 large premium coffee (135mg). The bites provide an instant boost to help improve your endurance and physical energy. They are recommended to take 5 minutes before exercise, driving, partying or studying to improve alertness and are more powerful than leading energy drinks!
Koko Dairy Free Milk Alternative (£1.79)
This unique alternative to cow’s milk is made with pressed coconut milk. It contains fewer calories than skimmed, 0% cholesterol, and is 100% allergen free. I was really surprised by this product as I’ve tried soya milk alternatives in the past and they were disgusting! I was really impressed by this drinks flavour and creaminess. When added to my tea I can’t really taste a difference and it is delicious on my morning cereal.
Drink Me Chai Latte Skinny Blend
This sachet of Drink Me’s new Skinny Chai Latte is the latest edition to their collection and is this month’s free gift. With only 62 calories per cup, this reduced fat and reduced sugar ‘skinny’ alternative is infused with spices to give an aromatic and guilt free fix.
Crabbie’s Light Ginger Bear (£1.49)
My husband was, unsurprisingly, more than happy to sample this for me. The crisp, refreshing, guilt-free treat is a new and lighter alternative to Crabbies bestselling original ginger beer. This version has a lighter taste which still has the warmth and spice of the original but less intense and heavy.
TreeVitalise Birch Water (£2.79)
This is a very intriguing product but sadly, this just wasn’t my cup of tea. TreeVitalise is a range of all-natural birch waters from the Carpathian Mountains containing only 10 calories per bottle. I personally wasn’t keen on this original flavour but the water is also availble in lemon and mint infusions that might be more to my liking.
Available in Pineapple & Grape and Strawberry & Banana varieties these small bags of freeze dried fruit melodies are under 80 calories and contain no added sugar, preservatives or nastiness.
Everyone loves a good hearty dish of pasta and I was delighted that both products were included in this month’s box. The combination of sauce and pasta make a delicious, authentic Italian dish that is so easy and quick too make and can be enjoyed by all the whole family. The sauce was full of sweet peppers, courgette, aubergines and tomatoes (with no preservatives) and the pasta was filling and very satisfying.
Hip Pops (availble in Sweet Chilli, Cheese & Onion and 4 other gluten-free flavours) are a healthy alternative to crisps with an average of 50% less fat than a typical bag of fried or baked crisps. They are very flavoursome and moreish. They are also a source or protein, high in fibre and low in saturates.
Another alcoholic beverage my hubby was delighted to try! Made with 7x distilled and 100% pure vodka with a unique toffee flavoured twist. Apparently this is nice in small quantities but is very sweet and little too on the sickly side. I can see this perhaps making a good cocktail ingredient?
Betavivo Crispy Oat Hearts (£1)
I wasn’t actually sure what this little packet was at first! This crispy oat heart cereal is proven to lower your cholesterol and blood glucose. I wasn’t too sure about the taste at first but now it has really grown on me! The Betavivo cereal is available now at Hollands & Barrett.
This month’s box contained a mix bag of products with the Fabulous Baker Cereal Bars and Koko’s Milk Alternative being my two favourites. I was definitely not a fan of the TreeVitalise Water and I was also a little disappointed to receive two alcoholic beverages seeing as I’m pregnant. However, I am still in love with this concept as it’s a great way to discover new brand and products.
