Lippy Girl Vegocentric Vegan Lipstick in Hot Diggity Yam Review

Today I’m trying my first ever 100% natural, vegan lipstick from Lippy Girl now available at Botanical Brands. Lippy Girl believes in creating professional quality ‘Vegocentric’ cosmetics that are eco-friendly, cruelty-free, natural, organic, vegetarian and vegan-friendly. I was sent a beautiful shimmering nude/peachy shade called Hot Diggity Yam*.

The brand’s cute, girly packaging and adorable set of shade names (such as Rose Posie, Son of a Brick and Fancy Pants) demonstrates that you can still establish a company with a serious message about the importance of ethically and responsibly sourced ingredients, whilst still having fun with makeup. The lipstick itself comes in a very sturdy, weighty aluminium black bullet in Lippy Girl’s signature black and pink.

Hot Diggity is made with organic and ‘wildcrafted’, natural oils and waxes and only natural mineral pigments. They are gluten-free, chemical-free and 100% vegan. They all contain a unique blend of certified organic Castor Seed Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Carnauba Wax and a super creamy, soft base of Shea Butter.

Hot Diggity is a very natural looking shade, perfect for everyday wear at work or popping out to the shops. It’s colour payoff is incredibly sheer, almost like a tinted lip balm. The texture of the formula is very soft and creamy whilst it’s combination of natural waxes, oils and mineral pigment doesn’t irritate my sensitive lips. It’s very light and comfortable to wear.

This shade is very pale and gives the impression of your-lips-but-better when applied. It makes them look juicier and fuller without overloading them with synthetic chemicals and pigment.

Lippy Girl is a leading force in the vegan make-up movement in Canada; proving that chemicals, animal additives and testing are not required and completely unnecessary for top quality makeup. I am impressed with my first vegan lipstick and can’t wait to try another shade in their range such a Schmoopy (Best Buy at the 2016 Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards), a matte dusky pink, to give a clearer comparison against others in my collection as the peachy sheer shimmer of Hot Diggity Yam is beautiful, but nothing like anything else I own.

The Lippy Girl Vegocentric Vegan Lipstick in Hot Diggity Yam retails for £12.50/5g.
