Tarte Tartelette Tease Palette | Review & Swatches

First of all, how adorable is this tiny palette? Tarte is a brand I’ve been dying to try for a while now so I was delighted to win their limited edition Tartelette Tease Palette (£18) in a Twitter giveaway hosted by Lola from lolaslittlewonders.com. Tarte isn’t an easy brand to get your hands on in the UK, unless you’re prepared to pay some hefty shipping fees, however several of their products are currently available at QVC.com. Tarte pride themselves on being ‘eco-chic’ beauty pioneers with their products containing natural high-performance ingredients and formulas infused with vitamins, mineral and essential oils. This pocket-sized version of their best-selling Tartelette palette contains 6 neutral cruelty-free eyeshadows (0.85g each) and a handy mirror.

The packaging consists of a thin, but sturdy, gold, pink and purple cardboard case with a gold plastic eyeshadow pan inside and a magnetic fastening. The palette fits inside the palm of my hand and is just a fraction bigger than a credit card. Inside contains the shades Whisper (light pink), Crush (taupe shimmer), Heartbreaker (matte brown), Wink (light mauve), First Kiss (mauve shimmer) and BFF (matte plum). Each eyeshadow (as well as several products in Tarte’s collection) is powered by Amazonian clay from the nutrient-rich banks of the Amazon River. The ‘skin balancing clay’ claims to mattify and remove surface oil whilst nourishing the skin, giving a smooth and even appearance.

As soon as I opened the palette, weirdly enough, the first thing I noticed was the smell; it smells amazing! As for the eyeshadows themselves, each shade swatched onto my arm like butter but I was a little surprised at how much fallout the shimmer shades gave considering this palettes price point. They all blend very well and have a silky consistency. Whisper acts as a beautiful, creamy base colour and although Wink appears to be the less pigmented of the six shades it’s actually just a perfect colour match to my skin which acts as a great transition shade. The mattes aren’t too dusty and are just as pigmented and long-lasting as the shimmers

Tartelette Tease is a cute palette that is perfect for popping in your handbag for applying on the go or for touching up during the day. This palette isn’t essential if you have as many neutral ‘everyday’ palettes as I have but it is a lovely addition to my collection. If I ordered this myself I may have been a little disappointed with its size considering the price point, however, I love the combination of shades and their soft, silky texture; they are so easy to blend and play around with. This miniature palette would be perfect if those pesky shimmers didn’t have such a high glittery fallout.

The Tartelette Tease Palette by Tarte is available here and retails for £18.
