This month’s Degustabox included 10 food cupboard products from innovative brands new to the market, including – Say Yes to No, Get Fruity, Metcalfe and Cape Drinks. With my hubby taking on some extra hours at work in order to save for Christmas and me being rushed off my feet with a newborn as home, I was thankful for all the convenient, but healthy, snacks included in this month’s box.
Degustabox is a monthly food box that is delivered straight to your door and contains a selection of innovative food products, discount codes, recipe cards and other fun stuff for only £12.99 including delivery. You can subscribe at any time and I even have a £7 off discount code for first-time subscribers at the end of this post – that’s only £5.99 for your first box! The August box contained products from Clippers, Oloves, Nutripot and Dorset Cereals, which you can read more about here. Let’s take a look at this month’s box…
First up, a sweet, guilt-free lunchtime snack from Hartley’s. These handy little pots come in a selection of flavours and always go down a treat at any age. I’m trying to lose my baby weight by being more mindful about what I eat and these juicy, fat-free, fruity jellies which contain less than 10 calories a pot, are the perfect way to satisfy my sweet cravings.
Next, we have a selection of delicious snacks from three brands I’d never heard of before. Say YES to NO Toasted Bread Chips (£1.49) are a tasty alternative to crisps and are now exclusively available at Waitrose. Say YES to NO artificial flavourings, additives or phony advertising. Say to YES to NO Chips are made from nothing but wholesome bread but are anything but bland and boring. I received the BBQ flavour which were smokey, hearty and moreish.
Also included this month are two refreshing cans of a sparkling Rooibos tea and fruit juice blend from Cape Drinks (£1.59 each). Each can is packed with antioxidants, added vitamins and ginseng. I received Peach & Lychee and Pineapple & Passionfruit. I loved these flavour combinations and would definitely purchase these again.
I drank these whilst eating my award-winning fruit and oat bar from Get Fruity (£1 each). Get Fruity bars contains gluten-free oats, coconut oil, no added refined sugars and are produced on a nut-free site. Each bar is chewy, packed full of goodness and completely natural.
Miso Tasty Miso Soup (£3.65) is made from 12-month fermented soybeans and rice with a hint of Japanese shichimi spice for added warmth. This box contains 4 servings as well as separate sachets of wakame seaweed and spring onion to garnish this surprisingly filling cuppa soup. Mrs Crimble’s Gluten Free Pasta with Sauce (£1.99) is a generous portion of microwavable fusilli with a gourmet mushroom and cream sauce with no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. Packets like these are always handy to keep in your food cupboard for a rainy day!
These are the two products I was most excited about trying. I received a bag of Metcalfe’s Skinny Original Popcorn back in March and loved it, so was thrilled to find a new twist to their popcorn snacks in this month’s box. This Milk Chocolate Coated Corn Thin (£1) is only 82 calories per serving and contains crispy corn and smooth Italian chocolate which makes for a light, yummy in-between meal snack. The Teisseire Sirop (£2.99) is a mouthwatering raspberry and cranberry flavoured syrup that contains 0% sugar and can be added to still or sparkling water to give it a fruity burst of flavour.
Finally, we have two more products: Chia Bia Whole & Milled Chai Seed Sachets (£1 each) and a generous 3 pack of Cirio’s Borlotti Beans (£1.98). The Chai seeds can be added to cereals and smoothies to give a boost of omega 3, fibre and protein while the steam-cooked Borlotti beans can be added to salads, soups and pasta dishes and are high in vitamins, carbohydrates and vegetable proteins.
The September box contained a whole variety of convenient and healthy snacks to eat on the go which I would have never thought to have tried if it hadn’t been for Degustabox. This month I am delighted to offer my readers a £7 discount off their first box using the code: 2RS8F.
