Nip + Fab is a skincare and body care range founded by Maria Hatzistefanis, who is also the founder of Rodial. I’m a huge fan of Rodial as their Stem Cell Super-Food Cleanser is one of my favourite ever high-end skincare products. I was happy to discover that Nip + Fab is a lot more affordable than Rodial and a favourite among celebrities such as their brand ambassador Kylie Jenner.
At first glance, I found the Nip + Fab packaging as well as the names of some of their collections a little intimidating; ‘Viper Venom’, ‘Dragon’s Blood’ and ‘Bee Sting’ particularly left me running for the hills clutching my sensitive skin. I was surprised to learn that their products are actually crammed with innovative and natural ingredients and are a lot more gentle to the skin than you may think.
The Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Mask is designed to plumpen the appearance of wrinkles and refine the skin’s appearance for a brighter, more youthful complexion. The clear, lightweight gel has quite a musky scent that reminds me of men’s aftershave. The mask contains everyone’s favourite anti-aging ingredient; hyaluronic acid. The mask also contain’s the product’s namesake ingredient Dragon’s Blood (derived from the Croton Lechleri tree) which helps to form a protective film to protect against environmental ‘aggressors’. The mask also contains salicylic acid to cleanse pores and aid exfoliation, glycerin to help restore skin’s suppleness and something called ‘TEGO Cosmo C 250’ to brighten and fade age spots. The mask can be used in two ways; by applying a thick layer to a clean face and neck, leaving for 10 minutes and rinsing with warm water or as an intensive overnight mask which you rinse off in the morning.
I found this mask surprisingly gentle (even when worn overnight) and very hydrating. It gives my skin a quick boost of moisture when I don’t have a lot of time on my hands. It leaves my skin feeling a lot softer and smoother after application and also brighter and more youthful looking. The mask absorbs quickly into the skin leaving it noticeably plump and radiant – this is the perfect pick me up if your feeling tired and your skin has lost it’s bounce and healthy glow. I can see me using this after a long haul flight or after a late night to give my skin a much-needed boost and help give the appearance of a brighter complexion.
The Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Mask is available here and retails at £14.95/50ml.
