The Autumn box from Degustabox* contains an impressive 13 products this month from new brands such as Yushoi, Beloved and JimJams, and a few old favourites such as Robinsons, Hershey’s and Heinz. October’s box is all about hearty, easy to prepare comfort food and with the cold nights starting to creep in, this is just what the doctor ordered.
Degustabox is a monthly food box delivered straight to your door that contains a selection of innovative food products, discount codes and recipe cards for only £12.99 including delivery. You can subscribe at any time and I even have a £7 off discount code for first-time subscribers at the end of this post – that’s only £5.99 for your first box! The September box contained products from Say Yes to No, Hartleys, Metcalf Skinny Popcorn and Get Fruity, which you can read more about here. Let’s take a look at this month’s box…
Heinz are on a mission to bring back the fun to mealtimes with their new Minion Dry Pasta Shapes (£1.19) and Heinz Kid’s Pasta Sauce (£1.55). Available in a variety of children’s characters the pasta contains 50% whole wheat and the sauce has no added sugar or salt. Penny is too young to enjoy this Despicable Me themed treat so I can’t wait to prepare a huge bowl of this for myself with a big chunk of garlic bread on the side.
Sweet treats this month include JimJams 83% Less Sugar Milk Chocolate Spread (£2.59), Pitch Choco Bar Brioche (£1.40) and Hershey’s Cookie ‘n’ Creme King Size Bar (£1). JimJams specialise in healthy, wholesome and natural food spreads and preserves suitable for the whole family. They don’t add any sugar to their chocolate spreads so they are low in calories and kinder to teeth. The Pitch Choco Bar filled Brioche from Brioche Pasquier are another crowd pleaser. Each soft, flaky brioche is individually wrapped and make the ideal breakfast snack or lunchbox filler. Finally, this delicious cookies ‘n’ creme infused chocolate bar from Hershey’s is a tasty twist on a classic combination and is the perfect treat to munch on under a blanket whilst watching your favourite Saturday night telly show.
Available in four varieties (including Lightly Salted, Sweet Chilli & Lemon, Smoked Salt & Szechuan pepper and Soy & Balsamic Vinegar) Yushoi Snapea Rice Sticks (£1.99) are made from baked green peas and rice for a Japanese twist on a British classic. These savoury snacks contain only 95 calories per serving and no artificial colours or flavourings, are high in fibre, are vegan-friendly and nut free.
The new Beloved Date Hearts (75p) are made from 100% date fruit with a hint of natural flavouring. Cold-pressed to retain all the benefits of the whole fruit, they are gluten-free, suitable for vegans and count as 1 of your 5 a day.
What’s better than a hot bowl full of wholesome, flavoursome soup on a cold Autumn night? Nothing! Both varieties of the IAM SOUPER Soup (£1.49) are packed with chunky ‘hunger-busting’ tasty ingredients that keep you fuller for longer. Low in fat but high in protein with no artificial flavours or preservatives, the convenient cartons of soup are available in four varieties, Pulled Pork & Jalapeno, Chicken & Supergrains, Peppered Beef & Superbeans and Supergreens. This month’s box also comes with a recipe card with two recipes for you to try, Cream of Mushroom and Butternut Squash with Chilli & Creme Fraiche Soup.
These two products are great for hiding away when you want something tasty at a moments notice. Simply pour the Levi Roots BBQ Coat ‘n’ Cook Instant Marinade (£1) over chicken, ribs or fish and cook straight away! Likewise, the new Fusian Noodles from Maggi (£1.39) in Firey Sweet Chilli or Aromatic Spiced Curry are ready to eat in just 4 minutes.
Finally, Robinsons Squash’d (£2.49) is a super concentrated portable squash which helps to make drinking water more exciting on the go. In 6 refreshing flavours and no more than 3 calories per serving.
The October Autumn box contained a whole variety of convenient and comforting snacks to eat on the go which I would have never thought to have tried if it hadn’t been for Degustabox. This month I am delighted to offer my readers a £7 discount off their first box using the code: 2RS8F.
