I’d been needing to pick up a new mascara for a while but resisted the urge to repurchase my trusty Rollerlash or Lash Sensational and try something from a brand I’d never tried before. I saw this mascara used during one of SophDoesNails makeup tutorials and purchased it through Look Fantastic, however, it’s also available at Beauty Bay, Marks & Spencers and Feel Unique.
The Fully Charged Mascara from PUR claims to contain an “anti-ageing formula with a revolutionary positively charged matrix that attracts to each individual lash to strengthen, thicken, lengthen and separate for unparalleled performance”. I don’t know a lot about PUR, but I do know that they are a cruelty-free brand that specialises in creating mineral-based makeup and skin care solutions.
The mascara comes in a thick tube with a matte finish and a brush that I don’t really have a lot to say about. It looks like your average mascara wand; no fancy curves, dips or painful plastic stubs that jab you in the eye (They’re Real I’m looking at you). As you see from the before and after photo above, there is no denying that this mascara adds volume, length and definition to my stubby barely-there lashes.
My only issue is that it has the tendency to be very clumpy, and if you try to add a second layer you’re left with dreaded spider-leg-looking lashes. It’s a shame because it doesn’t crumble or smudge, the effects are long-lasting and it’s very easy to remove, however, I prefer a mascara I can build and apply effortlessly and, unfortunately, Fully Charged is not a product I will be purchasing again.
The PUR Fully Charged Mascara Powdered by Magnetic Technology retails for 13ml/£16.
