The Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

The Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow is perhaps the most wished-for and hyped beauty release of 2017 so far. I’ve always been aware of Stila and even tried a few of their lip glaze pens, but hadn’t really paid the brand much attention recently, until this release exploded all over YouTube. I don’t know why it had taken me so long to try these out, perhaps it was because I was worried that I’d never use them. As much as I adore a little sparkle, glitter isn’t something I wear very often, however, as soon as I Googled the swatches I knew I needed the shade Bronzed Bell in my life.

Stila describes this collection as “… jewels for the eyes!” and they couldn’t be more spot-on if they tried. The liquid eyeshadow contains varying sizes of pearl and glitter which gives a truly captivating shimmer with minimal fuss or effort. The water-infused formula glides on effortlessly and is surprisingly lightweight and easy to blend. It’s very long-lasting and dries down quickly, however, I found that if you don’t wear a high-quality eyeshadow primer (UD’s Primer Potion for example) or glitter glue you will get a little fallout. For me, this isn’t a deal-breaker as it’s very minimal but eagle-eyed users may notice a touch of extra sparkle to your cheek if you don’t prep your lids in advanced.

This product isn’t like anything I’ve ever tried before. The eyeshadow swatches and applies like liquid gold and it was love at first sight. You simply apply one coat directly along the lash line and centre of the lid, then use your finger or a synthetic brush to gently blend out the edges before it sets. The effect is beautiful and very hard to capture on camera. It’s packed with glitter and pigment and looks absolutely stunning on the lids.

I’ve worn a little of this on my lids during the day to give a subtle shimmer and a lot of this during nights out to really make my eyes pop, and this product has never been uncomfortable to wear or flakey. It’s not just an eyeshadow ‘topper’ as it’s so opaque and rich in pigment that it can be worn both with or without additional eye makeup. I can’t wait to add more shades to my collection.

The Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows retail for £23 with free delivery at Stila.co.uk and are currently available in 9 shades.
