Beauty Products I Regret Buying #2

I’ve been really lucky when it comes to disappointing products recently considering how many skincare and makeup bits I actually purchase. Today’s products aren’t awful, but they aren’t great either. I was swithering whether or not to add the new L’Oréal Pardice Mascara to this list (controversial, I know) but I decided to dedicate a whole post to it which is coming soon. Spoiler alert, I just don’t get the hype. I find it incredibly average considering it has been deemed the ‘best drugstore mascara on the market’, any thoughts on this?

Beauty Products I Regret Buying #2

First up, we have the NYX First Base Primer Spray (£7 | 60ml). I purchased this absolutely ages ago and it’s sat on my dresser collecting dust. I know that there’s a lot of positive reviews about this circulating but I can’t see any benefit to applying this, except for the fact it’s lightweight and makes my skin feel soft. It doesn’t prolong the wear of my makeup, which is one of the main reasons I bother with primers.

I see the L’Oréal Infallible Total Cover Foundation (£9.99 | 35ml) as the weakest member of the infallible family. It applies nicely and covers all my imperfections and apart from wishing it was a touch lighter, my first impressions were positive. Unfortunately, when I wore it out for the day within hours it started breaking down around my nose and chin. It became patchier and patchier as they day went on and I even considered taking one of Penny’s baby wipes and taking it all off. I think this has been my most disappointing product all year as I waited so long for it to reach the UK and had such high hopes for it.

Despite people’s preconceived notions, there are a lot of hidden gems in Primark’s beauty department. What got me so excited for this palette is the beautiful selection of jewel shades – hello Autumn! If I could buy a MAC, ColourPop or Makeup Geek palette in these shades my year would be made. I’ve actually started my second ZPalette and this colour scheme is what I’m aiming for. Once again, I had high hopes when I originally swatched the PS… Vintage Eyeshadow Palette (£2.50). With the exception of the two lightest shades which are completely invisible, the shimmer shades actually swatch beautifully but as soon I started to play around with it everything went wrong. All the shades just blended into one big muddy faded mess.
