I’ve tried a lot of eyebrow products over the years but there’s one brand that I keep going back to for all my brow related dilemmas and that’s Benefit Cosmetics. Benefit have been magically transforming eyebrows since the 1970’s and now they have over 1800 BrowBar beauty lounges in 49 countries and over 30 beautifully packaged products and tools containing a new generation of formulas and shades to suit everyone’s brow needs. The newest addition to the collection is the Foolproof Powder Brow Kit (£20 | 7g) now available at Debenhams.
The collection basically has everything you need to magically transform your brows at home. Whether you have skinny brows, patchy brows, barely-there brows or are a brow beginner, enthusiast or professional – this collection has something for everyone. Let’s face it, with the exception of a few Christmas giftsets, Benefit is well known for their beautiful packaging and their brow collection is no exception. I love the bright colours and magician illustration on the cardboard box and the sleek, silver tubes and compacts inside which look and feel heavy and expensive. Although the thought of nearly 40 products may seem a little daunting at first, I love how it caters to all abilities and skin tones. Once you’ve established what your eyebrow needs are and what style you want, it’s actually very easy to select the right products, and if you’re still struggling just pop by a Benefit counter in Debenhams for a quick consultation.
The Foolproof Kit contains a velvety smooth powder presented in an eyebrow-shaped pan in the exact light-to-dark shade that mimics the gradual look of natural brows. The powder instantly adheres to hair and transforms sparse brows into full-looking brows. Simply use the blending sponge and spoolie-brush included to gently sweep the deeper shade from your arch to the end of your brow and blend with the spoolie. The formula lasts for up to 12 hours and is available in three shades.
The collection also contains Ready, Set, Brow! (£18.50 | 4g) an invisible shaping and setting gel which locks your look in place for up to 14-hours, 3D Browtones (£18.50 | 6g) which adds subtle brow-enhancing golden highlights (yes, really) and Browvo! Conditioning Primer (£23.50 | 3ml) a nutrient-rich primer contains keratin and soy proteins to help brows look thicker, healthier and fuller.
Let’s talk about two of my favourite products from the collection. I’ve been a huge fan of Goof Proof (£20 | 1g) since its launch over a year ago but more recently I’ve fallen in love with the Precisely, My Brow Pencil (£18.50 | 1g) which is basically a more grown-up version of the latter. As shown above, Goof Proof has a thick tapered edge and a glide-on formula for easy & fast brow filling. Precisely, My Brow has a smudge-proof formula that’s a little stiffer and an ultra-fine tip which allows for more precise hair-like strokes with 12-hour wear. This product is perfect if you’ve over-tweezed or have undefined patchy brows that you are looking to transform but are still after a natural looking finish.
If you are still a little confused by which product is best for your needs, Debenhams also currently have a number of gift sets in ‘Soft & Natural’, ‘Defined and Refined’ and ‘Bigger & Bolder’ which contain a selection of goodies, instructions and tools in a beautifully packaged, money-saving bundle, but you’ll need to snap these up quickly as they are bound to fly off the shelves as Christmas approaches. They have a number of travel sized mini versions of some of their products too which are great if you want a little handbag-friendly tester to try out before you invest in the full-sized product.
Don’t forget to sign up to the Debenhams Beauty Card Club to collect 3 points for every £1 you spend on beauty and fragrance.
