If there’s one makeup product that’s been at the very top of my wishlist for the last couple of months it’s the iconic Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Palette. I mean just look at it? It reminds me of a prop out of The Great Gatsby. Although I love drugstore makeup (Essence & ColourPop are two of my all-time favourite brands) when I truly want to treat myself I head over to the Charlotte Tilbury website. Every product is so luxurious and the packaging is that extra bit special. My collection might not be as big as some, but purchasing a new Charlotte Tilbury product is my favourite way to spoil myself.
So why did it take me so long to buy the award-winning Filmstar Bronze & Glow contour palette? Ultimately it came down to the price. At £49 for 16g of product, this really is an investment for someone who’s on a tight budget like myself. When my birthday rolled around I knew exactly what I’d be treating myself to before my money was spent on food shopping and bus fares. I’m so glad I did though. As someone who is very cautious and a little intimidated by the concept of contouring, this palette makes it so easy to add subtle definition and warmth without being caked in product.
This isn’t the most intensely pigmented highlighter and sculpting powder combo on the market, but it’s not trying to be. Charlotte Tilbury’s signature look is always fresh-faced, pretty and polished. Both powders blend flawlessly and can be built to your desired coverage. You can really take your time to achieve the look you’re going for instead of having to spend your time furiously buffing out a harsh line of product and disturbing your base underneath.
The shade light-medium is perfect for my pale skin. The bronzer is very natural looking (not too orange & not too shimmery) and gives a delicate sun-kissed glow and the light gold highlight gives a pretty radiance that’s perfect for everyday use. It’s fair to say I’ve fallen head-over-heels with this beautiful rose gold compact.
The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Palette retails for £49 and is available to purchase here.
