I’d been excited about this launch as soon as I saw the ColourPop Lux Lipstick Collection pop up on TrendMood, my number one source for upcoming releases. There are currently 32 shades available that range from your typical nudes, pinks and berries to turquoise, black and lavender. All shades contain the same blend of Acai, Jojoba and Pomegranate Seed butters to hydrate and protect your lips from environmental stressors and premature ageing. Currently, all shades share the same creamy satin-matte finish.
The packaging is undoubtedly beautiful. They share the same Charlotte Tilbury rose gold aesthetic but with a few added touches. I love the stars on the outer tube and they are also embossed on the actual lipstick too. All lipsticks contain 3.5g of product and retail for $7 each.
Above (Top to Bottom) – Get a Room, Uno Mas, Boy, Humble Pie & Stone Fox.
The lipsticks glide on effortlessly and are packed full of pigment. They apply just as creamy as a MAC Cremesheen Lipstick but dry down slightly into a satin-matte finish which feels comfortable and lightweight. One swipe delivers full opaque colour: no layering required. They are not terribly long lasting as they are so creamy and therefore transferable, but they are very hydrating and easy to apply so that doesn’t bother me. I seriously can’t believe that these retail for only $7 (around £5). Not only do they look luxurious, they feel luxurious too. This collection puts high-end £24 lipsticks to shame.
ColourPop is continuously adding to the Lux Lipstick collection so it will be interesting to see if they add any different finishes to the range in the upcoming months. There is also a range of matching Lippie Pencils to compliment each Lux Lipstick which retail for $5 each.
