L.A. Girl PRO.Matte HD Long Wear Matte Foundation

Let’s cut to the chase, I adore the L.A. Girl PRO.Matte HD Long Wear Matte Foundation. I heard that it was good but it’s honestly one of the best I’ve bought since the YSL All Hours. I was expecting it to be good, I mean, you certainly don’t get rave reviews from SophTati AND Kathleen for nothing. I don’t know if it’s the makeup snob in me that tends to prefer high-end base products but this has blown my expectations out of the water and restored my faith in ‘drugstore’ foundations. L.A. Girl is a brand I don’t have a lot of experience with, however, I do like their PRO.Conceal HD High Definition Concealer and have also watched many YouTubers speak highly of their PRO.Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Foundation. I feel like I waited for Beauty Bay to restock their lightest shade (Ivory) for weeks but, thankfully, it was worth the wait as it’s my perfect match. There are currently only 14 shades available which is disappointing, fingers crossed they extend their collection soon as it doesn’t look like darker skin tones have been catered to all that well; a disturbing trend in the makeup community.

L.A. Girl PRO.Matte HD Long Wear Matte Foundation

The PRO.Matte HD Foundation gives medium to full buildable coverage and dries comfortably to a matte/suede-like finish. It’s very similar to my Maybelline Superstay (but a better colour match for me personally) and Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation (without the fragrance and a third of the price). I only need 1 and a half pumps of the foundation to cover my entire face and it covers any discolouration and visible pores effortlessly. It blends out easily with a dampened RT Miracle Sponge and there’s time to build up the coverage without it setting frustrating fast. It gives me a completely matte finish without feeling cakey.

The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle with a pump and contains 30ml of product for only £10. I can achieve 7 hours wear before it starts to break down around my nose and chin which is incredible for my combination skin; even then this can be disguised with a little powder. I will 100% be repurchasing this foundation. I love the suede-like finish, how comfortable and lightweight it is and how it helps to control shine throughout the day with minimal fuss or effort.

The L.A. Girl PRO.Matte HD Long Wear Matte Foundation retails for £10 and is available at Beauty Bay and Just My Look.
