Beauty News, Gossip & Upcoming Releases | June ’18

It’s been a while since I’ve been truly excited about a new beauty release but recently I’ve noticed a whole bunch of new products popping up on Instagram that have got me excited about makeup again. For a while there, the beauty world seemed to be an endless conveyer belt of mermaids, unicorns, matte liquid lipsticks, warm-toned eyeshadow palettes and holographic packaging. Where is your current source of beauty news? Right now, I rely on YouTube PR unboxing videos, Beauty NewsJen Luvs Reviews’s Daily Makeup Minute, Trendmood and more recently Gemma Etc’s Instagram stories. Let’s talk beauty news, gossip and rumours…

ColourPop #NoFilter Foundation | Launch Date – 14th June

After the massive success of the #NoFilter Concealer (which now has an extended shade range), ColourPop has announced the upcoming release of the #NoFilter Foundation, a full coverage matte foundation available in 42 shades retailing for just $12. The #NoFilter family is also introducing a new #NoFilter Sheer Pressed Powder ($9) and #NoFilter Loose Setting Powder ($9) launching the same day. KathleenLights has already reviewed the foundation here.

Violet Voss Flamingo Palette | Launch Date – Mid July

I’ve seen a few photos of the upcoming Violet Voss palette popping up on Twitter. It looks like a cross between the Natasha Denona Tropic Palette and the new Jeffree Starr Thirsty Palette, hopefully, minus the £110 price tag or controversy attached. I’ve never tried the Violet Voss eyeshadow formula before but I’m seriously tempted to pick up this fun and summery palette to inject a bit of colour into my collection.

YSL Beauty Stick Foundation | Launch Date – Unknown

Not much is known about the upcoming YSL Stick Foundation except that it promises creamy, lightweight, buildable coverage, nevertheless, I got ridiculously excited when this popped up on my Instagram feed. I am a huge fan of YSL Beauty foundations, All Hours is still my favourite high-end base product and I can’t wait to pick this up when it’s finally released. Fingers crossed for a decent shade range.

Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette | Launch Date – Unknown

I’m always excited by a new Urban Decay release and the combination of shades in the soon-to-be-released Born to Run Palette really calls my name. It’s such a welcome change from all the warm-toned eyeshadows flooding the market right now. Inspired by the desire to travel and explore, the Born to Run palette contains 21 neutral and jewel-toned shades. According to Teen Vogue, the collection will also feature three new Vice Lipstick shades (a bright rose, mauve-nude, and dark berry), and three new 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils (two copper shades and a vivid metallic green), and a limited-edition version of its All Nighter setting spray.

Launches I’m not overly excited about include the Too Faced’s 20th Anniversary Collection which features a range of the 90s inspired metallic lipsticks and an eyeshadow palette that pays tribute to their original 1998 collection, the new limited-edition Tarte Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Collection and the Benefit Hello Happy Foundation. I mean, releasing only 12 shades in 2018 is a seriously disappointing move. Did we learn nothing from the disastrous Tarte Shape Tape Foundation launch? Benefit claim that the shade range is more inclusive than it first appears (three light shades, five medium shades, and four deep shades) as they have been “carefully crafted with neutral undertones that brilliantly stretch to fit a surprisingly broad range of skin tones”. Read more about the controversy here.

As you’ve probably figured out, I could talk about makeup and skincare all day, every day. I am truly a girl obsessed. Unfortunately, very few of my friends actually care about makeup and I’ve always felt like a bit of a blogger outsider, so please excuse me while I ramble on about my favourite topic. Also, feel free to comment down below or hit me up on social media so I don’t completely feel like I’m talking to myself.
