What exactly is the Vitamin Enriched Face Base from Bobbi Brown? Is it a moisturiser? Is it a primer? Well, it’s both. In this glass jar, makeup and skincare collide. The Vitamin Enriched Face Base is available in two sizes and I’ve finally reached the end of the 15ml jar I bought from Look Fantastic from £12.50, which is basically the size of a small eye cream. Not only is this size perfect for travelling with, it is also a great way of trying the bestselling Bobbi Brown product without spending £43 on the full-sized version and discovering it’s not for you. This jar will actually last you longer than you think. Face Base is such a rich product that a little goes a long way. Will I be purchasing the full-sized product now I’ve had the chance to put it to the test for over a month? Absolutely, and here’s why…
Face Base contains an oil-free formula that combines shea butter and vitamins B, C and E with the fragrance of grapefruit and geranium. At first, the moisturiser/primer hybrid feels and smells more like a body butter than a face product which completely took me off guard. You barely have to touch the cream before it begins to melt into your fingers. I’ve always had combination skin but as I get older I’ve begun to notice areas that were once a tad dry becoming more and more crepey and in desperate need of hydration, this is where Face Base works wonders. It sinks into the skin effortlessly creating a smooth canvas to apply your makeup, instantly hydrating the skin and making it feel softer and plumper.
As Face Base is so rich and thick, unless your skin is seriously dry, you don’t want to go in with too much as you can run the risk of it feeling greasy. Otherwise, everything about it is perfection! I still use a blurring primer on my nose as this won’t do anything for minimising pores but it’s the perfect way to prep your skin before applying foundation. Also, I can’t emphasise strongly enough how amazing it smells!
The Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base (15ml & 50ml) is available here with free delivery.
