My legs are pale, my nails are chipped and my poor feet haven’t seen the outside of my Converse in what feels like years. When Chemist.co.uk* got in touch to ask if I’d like to get ‘summer ready’ with them I jumped at the chance. Chemist.co.uk offer everything from cold remedies (unfortunately still a summer essential in Scotland), sexual health products (don’t worry they use discreet packaging to avoid awkward conversations with your postie), pain relief, vitamins & supplements, baby products, skin care, toiletries, suncare, makeup and lots more. They are direct, reliable and professional with more than 50 years experience…
I was shocked to find full-sized bottles of Jessica Custom Nail Colour in Bikini Blue, Awakening, Conch Shell & Banana Peel for, get this, only £1 each! I’ve been a huge fan of Jessica nail polishes ever since I picked up a few at TK Maxx last year and Chemist.co.uk have a selection of beautiful shades in both 7.4ml & 14.8ml varieties. How adorable are these shades? The next step to ensure my feet are flip-flop ready was to pick up these Scholl Party Feet Ultra Slim Invisible Gel Cushions (£4.80). Sorry, not the most exciting of products but these bad boys are definitely a summer/beach/wedding/pregnancy essential. My poor feet can’t cope with cute sandals without a bit of cushioning and these are ultra slim, discreet and stay firmly in place. They are also washable and re-usable so are a fab summer investment.
Usually, I’m a full-coverage matte base kind of girl, but I like to give my skin a little breather as the weather warms up. I didn’t even realise that the Garnier BB Cream Original Miracle Skin Perfector (£6.39) came in Extra Light. I love how easy this is to apply and it leaves my skin with a fresh-faced healthy glow. This BB Cream contains vitamin and mineral pigments that blur imperfection whilst providing all-day hydration and SPF 15. For lip care, I always turn to Carmex Lip Balm (£2.33). You can always find this little yellow tub at the bottom of my handbag. It soothes, protects and moisturises and I had no idea that it also contains SPF 15. It also smells of cherries so what’s not to love? Chemist.co.uk stock Dr Paw Paw, Nivea, Blistex and Burts Bees lip products too at discounted prices.
As many of you already know, I have a love/hate relationship with false lashes. I really think they complete your look and this pair are unbelievably pretty and perfect for everyday wear. Unfortunately, I am awful at applying them, that’s why I picked up the Eylure Naturals Starter Kit (£5.95). It contains a reusable set of lashes, two bottles of Lashfix Strip Lash Adhesive, a practice lash and, most importantly, a custom designed applicator that helps to grip onto the lash and apply them to the lash line with minimal fuss or mess.
Palmer’s is an incredibly underrated skincare brand that I’ve relied on for years to keep my skin beautifully soft. I always have a bottle of the original Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lotion (£2.99) in the bathroom but I also added the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Gradual Tanning Moisturiser (£5.99) (finger’s crossed it’s light enough!) and Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Tummy Butter for Stretch Marks (£3.39) to the family! You can check out the full collection here which also includes Coconut Oil Shampoo & Conditioner, Skin Therapy Oil and Hand Cream.
Every lazy girl needs to be stocked up on dry shampoo and Chemist.co.uk have a huge range from Batiste, Aussie, and Touch of Silver. I love the scent of both the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry & Blush (£2.69 each) and they are both available in a cute handbag sized can too which is perfect for popping in your handbag and adding texture and volume to your hair after a quick dip in the pool.
Finally, and probably the most important step of all is to keep the whole family protected and stock up on skincare. Chemist.co.uk stock several different brands that cater to all needs, skin types and sensitivities including Hawaiian Tropic, Garnier, Malibu and Piz Buin, all of which can be found here. The Nivea Sun Immediate Protection Moisturising Spray (£4.95) is a must-have. I have a few bottles in a number of different factors to keep the whole family happy and safe. Plus, the Nivea Sun Moisturising After Lotion with Aloe Vera (£3.99) is a fast absorbing cooling lotion that intensively moisturises the skin for 24 hours and is always handy to have around too.
