I start work at 8am and I like my sleep, so as you can imagine mornings are pretty hectic in my house. Especially right now, we are moving home soon and are in the midst of packing so everything is crammed into boxes that are randomly placed around the house. By the time I’ve got the baby up, fed her breakfast and showered, I’m left with a limited amount of time to paint my face. My dressing table looks like a war zone right now but I have a little purple makeup bag full of my everyday essentials. Put it this way, these are my must-have makeup products that I currently find myself reaching for every morning, so you know they’re good! Don’t forget to click on each individual product’s link if you’d like to read a more in-depth review on them…
If I have time, I slap on a thin layer of primer and let it sink in while I do my hair. Right now I find myself reaching for The Ordinary High Spreadability Primer (£5.50). For foundation, I either wear the LA Girl PRO.Matte HD Long Wear Foundation (£10) or the L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation (£11.99), depending on how heavy I want my base and coverage. For concealer, I know that I’m becoming a broken record, but nothing compares to my Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer (£22). I set everything with my Hourglass Veil Translucent Powder (£36).
For my eyes, I very quickly buff in a few shades from my Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette (£43) and hope for the best. To be honest, you can’t really go wrong with the palette. I usually stick to a combination of Tempera, Rustic, Cyprus Umber and Glistening. If you’re looking for a high-quality everyday palette that’s easy to use, I’d definitely invest in this bad boy. It’s overtaken Tarte In Bloom as my most used eyeshadow palette. For mascara, I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2 Mascara (£25). To read more about my love/hate relationship with this mascara click here. It gives my lashes stunning volume but it’s not without its’ faults.
For bronzer, I quickly sweep the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow (£49) all over, for blush I’ve been loving my Nip + Fab Blush Palette (£8.95) and for highlight, my all-time favourite: Ofra x NikkieTutorials Everglow Highlighter (£25). Finally, I set everything with my trusty Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray (£10).
Now I’ve actually taken the time to write this down, it seems like a lot. I’ve used this combination of products so many times I must have my routine down because I can get a full face on in less than fifteen minutes! I guess good quality tools help too. I love my Spectrum Pearly Queen Makeup Brush Set and Beauty Blender, they (along with my ABH palette) are probably the best beauty investments I’ve yet to make.
