Last weekend we moved house and whilst the spare bedrooms are still littered with boxes we’ve made a few homely touches already thanks to Room To Sleep. I don’t know about you, but I find it really difficult to fall asleep in new surroundings. Also, being 30 weeks pregnant in 28-degree heat doesn’t particularly help matters. Even though the rest of the house might be in absolute chaos right now, at least my bedroom is already transforming into a calming sanctuary to escape to. Isn’t it amazing the effect cosy bedding, carefully placed candles and some lavender and chamomile bath products can have on your mood and ability to relax?
There are a handful of bath and body products I rely on to help me drift off to the Land of Nod. These mainly come from SpaceMasks (full review coming soon) and Feather & Down. Each product from Feather & Down’s beautifully packaged collection works in harmony to encourage a restful night’s sleep through regime, routine and their specially blended fragrance containing lavender & chamomile essential oils. I’m a huge fan of their Melting Shower Cream, All Purpose Balm and Sleep Butter. Ever since our move, my new bedding has been drenched in their Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray. My bedroom has never smelled this amazing or inviting before. If you’re like me and can never seem to shut off from the world around you, especially when your head hits the pillow, you need this in your life. The infusion of lavender and chamomile essential oils really helps to create a calming atmosphere which encourages my overactive and anxious mind to settle down. By closing my eyes and concentrating on inhaling this beautiful aroma I feel more at peace and less likely to start creating to-do lists in my head or worry about my week ahead. Talking about bedding, I was very kindly sent the Grey Embroidered Duvet Set from Room To Sleep*.
Room To Sleep has a hand-picked collection of beautifully designed bedroom furniture, luxurious mattresses and a whole heap of inspiration to help you design and create your perfect retreat. Their collection of accessories is the perfect way to add a bit of colour, light or texture to your bedroom to create a serene, cosy atmosphere.
As soon as I got into bed it was very obvious that these were the softest, most luxurious sheets I’d ever slept in! They’re 100% cotton and the design is simple yet sophisticated. I teamed the duvet up with pink sheets and pillow covers to match my bedroom’s colour scheme. The duvet is intricately detailed with embroidered circles and is available in sizes single, double, king and super king. The duvet set retails from £45, is machine washable and easy to care for. My bed basically feels like a huge marshmallow and it’s incredibly difficult for myself (and cat) to get out of bed in the morning!
