Since moving into our new house, decorating my girl’s bedrooms have been my own little project. I shouldn’t really say decorating, I’ve not so much as picked up a paintbrush and Ross has built all the furniture – let’s call it accessorising instead. The plan is to move Penny out of the smaller bedroom which is across the hall from us and where the cot is, into the larger room down the hall and hopefully, in time, get her a new ‘big girl’ bed. Penny is a girly girl obsessed with cats and bunnies (i.e. hops as she calls them) and I’ve had so much fun filling her new room with lots of new pretty pink things. With the new baby on the way, it’s a lovely way to make her feel special too…
There are so many accessories I’ve purchased recently that I want to share including beautiful gold-foil art prints from Etsy, a polka dot lamp from Maisons du Monde, stackable suitcases from JoJo Maman Bebe and hanging paper pom poms from Amazon. I think I might create a series of posts all about this, so stay tuned! One of my favourite things in Penny’s room already is the incredibly cosy Dusky Pink Tassel Knit Throw* I was recently sent from British Children’s furniture and accessories retailer, Room To Grow.
Room To Grow also has a wonderful collection of practical and colourful furniture, bedding and storage solutions all designed to help you create stylish bedrooms for your children, providing them with their own environment for play through ingenious designs and clever space saving features. While we don’t have Penny’s first bed bought quite yet, there’s a high possibility it’s going to be something cute and girly (I’m sorry but I just can’t help myself) and this gorgeous soft throw is perfect for adding texture to her bedroom. Right now we’ve been using it to wrap ourselves up in at night for story time either on the baby’s nursing chair or downstairs before bedtime.
The Dusky Pink Tassel Knit Throw from Room To Grow retails for £45. For information about sizing and delivery click here.1
