It’s finally here! I’ve been trying this product out for a while now but couldn’t fill you in until it’s official launch. I was very lucky to recently receive an amazing package full of products from Proto-col, a beauty brand that specialises in creating natural mineral cosmetics and advanced skincare. To find out more about the brand, read my review of their Baked Mineral Colour Correct here. Their latest launch, the Intense Protection Day Moisturiser SPF 50+ with Collagen Technology (50ml), has especially impressed me this summer. I’ll hold my hands up and admit, even though I’m incredibly pale and should know better, I have a tendency to completely skip applying SPF. Applying it always seems like another chore in an already chaotic morning routine. This day moisturiser has been a bit of a lifesaver throughout the heatwave we’ve been having and here’s why…
The Proto-col Intense Protection Day Moisturiser comes in a heavy plastic tube with a pump in a chic metallic blue box. It looks and feels very high-end. Although, my only criticism is that the pump has a tendency to be a little too enthusiastic and has the tendency to squirt everywhere so be warned.
It’s quite thick but unlike other face products containing SPF, it dissolves into the skin effortlessly with no greasy residue or white cast. It doesn’t apply, feel or smell like a sunscreen whatsoever. The moisturiser contains plant collagen and (everyone’s favourite ingredient) hyaluronic acid, which hydrates the skin throughout the day. As my skin matures, I have become increasingly worried about sun damage and the fact this miracle worker contains SPF 50 is incredible. Simply apply 15 minutes before exposure to the sun and top-up at least every 2 hours. The Intense Protection Day Moisturiser doesn’t feel heavy or overly sticky and is such an easy way to protect your skin this summer. Skin damage isn’t cute, please remember to be cautious this summer!
The Proto-col Intense Protection Day Moisturiser SPF 50+ retail for £39.95/50ml and is available to purchase here.
