Pots of cream eyeshadows are a lazy girl’s best friend. Simply pop on your lid with your finger and quickly blend it out before it dries. No need to worry about transition shades, palettes or fall out. The Eyes to Mesmerise Long-Lasting Cream Eyeshadow Collection from Charlotte Tilbury contains eight shades, however, I think three were limited edition and currently out of stock. The five original shades were named after iconic beauties from history: Jean, Bette, Veruschka, Marie Antoinette and Mona Lisa.
The frosted glass pot contains 7ml and retails for £22. Jean is a beautiful shimmering champagne pink that contains a whipped water-infused formula that has a cooling effect on the lid and a smooth glide-on texture that doesn’t drag, crease or bunch up. It also contains Vitamin E and antioxidant protection which claim to offer protection from free radicals.
The eyeshadow can be used as a base shade or on its own for a pretty wash of colour. It claims to be longlasting however I find that I need two layers to make it last the entire day otherwise it fades. I’ve been reaching for this little pot almost every day because it’s insanely easy to apply. It’s not overly glittery but shimmers beautifully when the light catches it. Jean is a universally flattering shade but it’s not as pigmented as the Maybelline Colour Tattoos or the Revlon Colour Creme Eyeshadows which next to no one seems to be talking about. For £22 for such a tiny amount of product, I can’t see myself purchasing another shade in the Eyes to Mesmerise collection for a while no matter how much of a time saver they are. However, I am patiently waiting for the release of their new full-sized palette in the upcoming months…
