Over-the-top and tacky or cute and sugary sweet? I’ll let you be the judge. I actually love the packaging of the Girls Best Friend Triple Baked Highlighter from I Heart Revolution. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and gives me serious Barbie vibes. It’s made out of cardboard so it does feel a little cheap but there’s no denying how eye-catching it is. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and it’s what’s inside that counts…
The ‘Diamond’ highlighter collection is available in three versions: Princess Cut – icy white with a lilac shift, Champagne and Diamonds – champagne gold and Girl’s Best Friend – rosy glow. The highlighters retail for £6 which is on the steep side for a single pan highlighter from Revolution considering the packaging is made from such basic materials.
The ‘diamond’ is cut into three sections. The centre is a light champagne and both outside sections are a pretty sparkling pink. They can be applied separately or combined to make a very pretty icy pink shade which looks beautiful on pale skin tones. Baked highlighters are known for their intensity and ‘Girls Best Friend’ is no exception. It has a surprisingly smooth texture and isn’t glittery but extremely metallic.
As you can probably tell from the packaging, this is not a subtle product so if you’re looking for a natural looking glow you might want to give this a miss, however, if you love a blinding Instagram-worthy highlight you’ll love ‘Girls Best Friend’.
The I Heart Revolution Girls Best Friend Triple Baked Highlighter is available at Superdrug and retails for £6.
