My bedtime routine consists of a number of steps. The first step is to take off all the makeup that my poor skin has been caked in all day. Right now I find myself reaching for either the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm or Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm followed by the new Pixi Retinol Tonic. To finish things off I use the Antipodes Rejoice Light Day Cream (I know I really need to invest in a night cream) and the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, a firm favourite of mine for years. I then light either my new Yankee Candle in Frosty Gingerbread or the mini candle from my Latest in Beauty Advent Calendar from The White Company in Winter. Have you tried it? I can’t wait until payday so I can treat myself to the full sized version. Regular readers will also already know how much I love face masks and right now my favourite is Rosy Cheeks from Lush. It’s a lovely rose scented clay-based mask that leaves my skin feeling soft, plump and calm.
No nighttime routine is complete without trying to squeeze in at least 15 minutes of ‘me time’. This obviously depends on whether or not the baby is blissfully asleep in the Moses basket next to me or has morphed into a whinging ball of rage. My favourite way to relax is with a cup of tea and a good book. Right now, I’ve been enjoying the feel-good Snooze blend from Teapigs which you can find out more about here and I’m currently reading Is ‘Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?’ by Mindy Kaling. This is all well and good but there’s one thing above all else that’s sure to put me in a good mood before bedtime – new PJs!
I was recently sent the cutest pair of pyjamas from lingerie and sleepwear specialists: Hunkemoller*. I have to admit, I’d never heard of them prior to them getting in touch but I’m so glad they reached out because their collection of nightwear is adorable and really affordable. Plus, finding decent lingerie online can be a nightmare, since when did bras get so expensive? I’m already eyeing up a few new sets in the hope that it will boost my confidence. Getting used to the changes your body goes through after pregnancy is a long process and I’m hoping that investing in some new clothes and lingerie that actually fits will help me to adjust. That’s why I’m so grateful to Hunkemoller for sending me the Hello Gorgeous Set, it really helped lift my spirits and make me feel cute again.
