CafePod Coffee Co. | Deliciously Strong Coffee for Serious Coffee Drinkers

I have a newborn baby and a toddler currently in the midst of her ‘terrible twos’, so you can bet I drink a hell of a lot of coffee to get me through the day. My Nescafé Dolce Gusto Machine is pretty much the love of my life. The manual Jovia is the more affordable of the Dolce Gusto collection retailing from around £38. FYI, it’s the ultimate gift for any coffee lover if you’re struggling for ideas this Christmas. I use mine every morning as it provides barista style coffee in the comfort of my own home within seconds. Recently I was kindly sent two varieties of coffee to try from the CafePod Coffee Co., an independent coffee company based in South London that specialises in strong, daring and exciting coffee for those of us who take our morning pick-me-up seriously.

The coffee is left longer in the roaster to create an intensely bold flavour that definitely packs a punch. Don’t get me wrong, I love a frothy, cream-topped sickly sweet monstrosity from Starbucks as much as the next person, but there’s a time and a place for that, and it’s definitely not when I need an instant boost. When you’re trying to potty train a strong-willed toddler throughout the day and also up four or five times during the night to feed a newborn, I need no-nonsense high-quality coffee and the CafePod Coffee Co. have got me covered.

I was sent the Americano Supercharger and Americano Intense Dolce Gusto Compatible Pods. Each pack contains 10 capsules and retails for £3, that’s only 30p per coffee. What’s not to love about that?! Both blends are strong with a slight hint of chocolate with a nutty aftertaste. As they brew, my house is filled with an amazing aroma that rivals any hipster coffee shop and a mug never fails to get me out of a mid-morning slump. The only drawback is that there are currently only two varieties compatible with my Dolce Gusto as the majority of their coffees are designed for Nespresso machines, which is a bit of a bummer. Fingers crossed they expand this range soon.

If you want affordable, high-quality, ‘grown-up’ coffee that doesn’t mess around CafePod Coffee Co. is the brand for you.
