I know I’m a bit of a skincare junkie and have the tendency to flip flop between brands and products, which is really not recommended, but Antipodes is a brand I always find myself coming back too. Over the years I have fallen in love with the simplicity of the products. Antipodes is a premium natural and certified organic and vegan skincare brand that uses a combination of sustainably sourced ingredients from New Zealand and extensive scientific research to create a range of highly effective skincare products. Their products are currently available at Beauty Bay, Naturisimo and Feel Unique with prices starting from £15.
I discovered Antipodes over three years ago after watching a YouTube video by Em over at My Pale Skin explaining how she cleared her acne. The first purchases I made were the Aura Manuka Honey Treatment Mask and Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream. Both come in a tube, which are both pretty annoying to store but very practical in the sense that you can squeeze out every drop of product inside and get your money’s worth.
The Aura Manuka Honey Treatment Mask* (£22) is a creamy, luxurious mask that leaves skin feeling soft, plump and hydrated. I find that masks designed to treat blemish-prone skin usually come with an intense smell like tea tree, or some other kind of potent antibacterial ingredient, but that’s not the case with the Aura mask; it doesn’t feel or smell like a blemish treatment at all. It has a delicate fragrance of vanilla and mandarin and helps keep my skin clear but doesn’t completely strip it of moisture. It isn’t an intense treatment that will zap your spots, more of a weekly treat that soothes inflamed skin and calms everything down.
The Reincarnation Exfoliator* (£21) is another Antipodes product that smells heavenly, which isn’t at all surprising when you look at the list of ingredients packed inside. The creamy exfoliator contains a blend of nourishing avocado oil, Jojoba beads, marigold bloom, cedarwood and sweet orange essential oils. This exfoliator isn’t packed with abrasive and gritty particles, it’s a subtle but effective facial exfoliator that leaves your skin feeling softer, cleaner and calmer. Healing Calendula Oils repair and nurture the skin as Carrot Seed Extract clear and revitalise and Jojoba Beads gently lift away lifeless skin. It’s suitable for all skin types as it won’t irritate sensitive skin, stip dry skin of its natural oils or overload oily skin with anything that will cause further congestion.
The Rejoice Facial Cream* (£24.95) is very lightweight and is perfect for combination skin. The non-oily day cream sinks effortlessly into my skin and helps to keep it plump and hydrated; both soothing dry patches and nourishing my oily tea zone without adding that will cause further congestion and break me out. It’s a bit of a miracle worker. It’s a simple and gentle day cream that helps restore balance to my hormonal skin.
