I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by a Burt’s Bees lip care product. I’ve been a fan of their lip balms for years now so I’m really excited to try their new collection of cosmetics which includes an illuminating foundation, three highlighter sticks, eyeshadow trios, mascara and full coverage liquid lipsticks (now available at Superdrug) to find out how the quality compares. They also have a collection of skincare products which include a Peach & Willowbark Pore Scrub, Orange Essence Cleanser and Micellar Water Face Wipes.
One of the best things about Burt’s Bees is the simplicity and wholesomeness of their products. On average, their products are 99% natural and they are also a cruelty-free brand. As soon as I found out they had launched an overnight lip treatment I was intrigued and immediately hunted it down. I’m always up for adding skin care products into my routine that work while I sleep because, even though I probably have over 50 lip balms scattered around the house, I can never find a single damn one. It’s worth noting that they also have a conditioning lip scrub and moisturising lip mask now available too.
The treatment comes in a standard plastic pot and has a delicate minty scent. I simply slather it all over my lips before bedtime and let it get to work. Since using the treatment, I have noticed that I’m waking up to incredibly smooth and soft lips. It definitely conditions while I sleep and my lips don’t look as dehydrated and prune-like as they once did. It feels just like a regular, slightly thick lip balm and contains Ceramides which Burt’s Bees claim to protect against dryness and environmental irritants for healthier-looking lips. I didn’t really have a lip care routine prior to picking up this pot, although this is a product I will repurchase as it does exactly what it promises. It’s a quick and simple treatment that really does make my lips appear smoother and is perfect if you wear a lot of drying matte lipsticks and want to pamper them a little.
The Burt’s Bees Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment retails for £6.99 and is available to purchase here.
