It’s probably because I’m on a spending ban that every beauty brand and their cat is releasing all kinds of new skincare and makeup treats. Let’s start with Revolution’s new collaboration with beauty content creator Jake-Jamie AKA ‘The Beauty Boy’. You’ll probably recognise this cheeky chappy from his hilarious DIY skincare videos, that’s why this collection of food-themed Instagram-friendly face masks is such a brilliant fit. There are three masks available including Hydrating Watermelon, Radiant Glow Coconut, Mango & Chai Seed and Moisturising Cocoa and Oat, plus a Tropical Essence Spray all available here (AF Link).
ColourPop is known on Trendmood (my source for upcoming beauty launches) as ‘the brand that never sleeps’, that’s because it’s so difficult to keep track of all their new releases. They’re constantly churning out new formulas, products and collaborations. Now that they’ve got rid of the random custom fees and simply let you pay any additional taxes up front, it couldn’t be easier to order from their US site. As well as their first ever mascaras and liquid eyeliners, Colourpop have recently released a new collection of pressed pigments, ‘glide-on’ creamy eyeliners in over 20 shades including neons, pastels and metallics AND 12-hour wear gel liner pots. It wouldn’t surprise me if by the time I’ve published this post a new collaboration has already been announced. You can keep up-to-date by regularly checking their New Arrivals section or, as I said, following Trendmood on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Everyone knows how much I love Essence (I recently reviewed their vegan-friendly Velvet Matte Lipstick collection) so I can’t wait to get my hands on all their new products that have recently become available at Wilko.com. I’m not exaggerating when I say there’s a lot. Are you ready? Here goes: Hey Cheeks Palette, ‘My Glow Passion’ Blush and Highlighter, Micro-Precise Eyebrow Pencils, four new travel-themed eyeshadow palettes, Insta Perfect Liquid Highlighters, Shine Last & Go Nail Polish in over 40 shades, Crystal Wet Look Lipgloss, Peel-Off Lash Glue, Plumping Nude Lipgloss and My Beauty Lip Rituals collection including lip masks, balms and scrubs. Essence has also extended their ‘Your Better Work!’ long-wear collection and it now includes the original primer plus an eye primer, concealer palette, setting powder, two mascaras, tinted day cream and setting spray with prices starting at just £2.80.
The Body Shop’s makeup collection is very underrated. I love their scrubs and body butters as much as the next girl but their Fresh Nude Foundation, bronzers and matte liquid lipsticks are some of my all-time favourites. Recently they have released the ‘Paint in Colour’ and ‘Own Your Naturals’ eyeshadow palettes (both of which are vegan-friendly, enriched with Community Trade marula oil from Namibia and retail for £15 each) as well as a limited edition Honey Bronze Bronzing Balm and Happy Go Lash Mascara.
I couldn’t write about lastest makeup releases without mentioning the palette EVERY beauty blogger is drooling over, and quite rightly so. Charlotte Tilbury’s new Glowgasm collection contains a jaw-droppingly beautiful face palette and three liquid highlighters. I’m not the biggest fan of the name. I associate the brand with Hollywood glamour and this seems like a cheap way at targeting a slightly younger demographic, however, I still want to get my hands on it. The only thing stopping me is the price. Charlotte Tilbury is a high-end brand so it’s £60 price tag was to be expected, although it’s eye-watering nonetheless. Drunk Elephant is a ‘clean’ high-end skincare brand that creates products free from the ‘Suspicious 6’ (essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical screens, fragrance/dyes and SLS). I’ve yet to purchase anything from them due to their steep prices, however, their new Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser (£29) is one of the more affordable products in their collection. It’s an oil to milk cleanser that claims to melt all traces of dirt, debris, makeup and sunscreen – even water-resistant formulations. It also comes with a Bamboo Booster – a physical exfoliant that can be added, formed from ultra-fine bamboo and charcoal spheres. There are also two new gift sets available (NightBright & Rose + Glow) both of which contain 2 x 8ml samples from £19 and two new Daily Defence sun creams and Antipollution Sunshine Drops.
Other launches include Becca’s new skincare collection ‘Skin Love’ which includes a Glow Elixir, Glow Shield Prime & Set Mist and a Brighten & Blur Primer. All products are infused with Becca’s ‘glow nectar’, a brightening hydra complex which contains a blend of ingredients that help brighten, nourish and hydrate the skin. Prices range from £22-£34, however, you can pick up the Skin Love Starter Set at Cult Beauty which contains three deluxe samples (25ml, 15ml, 2.2ml) for £20.
