REN Clean Skincare | Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

There are some skincare products in my collection that I purchase time and time again and completely take for granted. One of these superstars is the iconic REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask available at Marks & Spencer, Feel Unique and Cult Beauty. This is currently my favourite weekly mask. I feel like I speak about REN a lot on my blog, but it’s with good reason. They believe in clean, safe skincare, with no toxins, no harsh or controversial chemicals. They are a cruelty-free skincare brand that uses 100% recyclable packaging, refillable solutions and bottles made from reclaimed ocean plastic. Their products, especially those from their Radiance collection are exceptional. This mask, along with their Ready, Steady, Glow AHA Tonic, are two of my holy grail skincare products. I also recommend their Rosa Centifolia Cleanse & Reveal Hot Cloth Cleanser and Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream too, which can read about here.

I first read about this mask in Pretty Iconic: A Personal Look at the Beauty Products that Changed the World by Sali Hughes. I completely understand how it has earned its cult status over the years. This gives my skin a deep exfoliation without causing any irritation. After the treatment, it feels like it has peeled away the top layer of skin to reveal a baby-soft glowy complexion underneath – in a completely non-invasive and gentle way of course. It retails for £36 for 50ml which is up there in price, however, the official website is well-known for having offers, promo codes and free gifts available so you might be able to pick up a bargain. Just before Christmas, I bought a few bottles from Fragrance Direct with a massive discount. There doesn’t appear to be any available at the moment but fingers crossed for a restock soon. Regardless, Fragrance Direct is really worth a browse as their website features loads of hidden gems. Plus, you only need one pump of this mask to cover your entire face so a 50ml bottle lasts a lot longer than you’d expect it to.

The Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask has a lovely orange sherbet fragrance to it and is a thick orange gel that you leave on for just 10 minutes. It contains glycolic acid; which exfoliates to remove dead skin cells, Lactic Acid, to smooth and refine texture and Papain, which also aids the exfoliating process and improve the texture and radiance of the skin. It says that “a slight tingling may be experienced during application”, on the side of the bottle but I have never experienced this. I love this product as the treatment is quick, it smells amazing and I believe that it has also helped to fight the first signs of lines and ageing around my forehead and mouth.
