AD | Today’s post is a bit different from gift guides and beauty reviews; today’s post is about getting your home sparkling in time for Christmas with OzKleen. You’ve probably already spotted on my Instagram that I love cleaning. It was once a chore I dreaded and put off daily, however, since having my girls and, with the help of Mrs Hinch and my recent discovery of the incredibly lovely and supportive cleaning community on Instagram, cleaning is now something that actually helps me to relax. The feeling of having a clean house, ticking tasks off my to-do list and having some degree of organisation in the chaos that is my home has done wonders for my anxiety. Having a young family, working and blogging can be stressful, but I know that coming home to a clean and organised home which also smells incredible helps me to stay calm. My home is somewhere that I can relax, play with my girls, put my feet up and make happy memories in rather than a place I want to avoid at all costs thanks to the mountain of washing, hoovering and smell of dog waiting for me.
You only need to look down an aisle in B&M to notice that there are A LOT of cleaning products available right now. It can be daunting trying to figure out which ones actually work and are worth the price tag. That’s why I was delighted to receive three products from OzKleen. I’d seen the Australian brand pop up on my Instagram feed but had very little knowledge of what they were about prior to them reaching out.
Basically, OzKleen is an eco-friendly, scientifically advanced range of cleaning products designed to help their customers save time, effort and money. Unlike most of its competitors, OzKleen keeps the planet in mind through every step of its operation and has gone to great lengths to protect it wherever possible. All products are free from chlorine, ammonia and phosphates and suited to every household job imaginable. Each product is manufactured in facilities powered exclusively by solar energy and developed using only natural ingredients such as deionised rainwater, which makes OzKleen a safer and more effective option for the long-term consumer. Their product range currently includes: Carpet Power, Grease Power, Mint Kleen, Bath Power, Kitchen Power, Multi-Surface Mint, and De-scaler Power. Prices start from just £3.80 and are available online or in selected UK retailers including Costco, Wilko, Robert Dyas and Waitrose.
The big question is – do they actually work? Well, I’ve been putting them to the test. First up: Kitchen Power. This all-purpose spray cuts through grease, removes grime and eliminates smells. It works pretty much everywhere: worktops, sinks, taps, tiles, stainless steel & chrome, stoves, fridges, floors… the list goes on and on. Simply squirt on to the surface, leave for 20-60 seconds and wipe or rinse. As you have may have seen on my Instagram stories, I’ve used Kitchen Power on my worktops, kitchen sink, stove, door handles and radiators so far.
It worked wonders on my sink; getting rid of watermarks and dirt effortlessly, leaving behind a squeaky clean streak-free surface. I was really impressed at how shiny the spray left my taps. Cleaning my sink is usually a two-step task as I use a spray and then buff the stainless steel with a finishing spray designed to give it a polished finished, however, there’s no need with Kitchen Power. The radiator and doors in my utility room are often neglected and I was embarrassed to admit how grimey they were. As you can see in the before and after photos below, Kitchen Power cut through the dirt in literally seconds. I usually have to use my Scrub Daddy sponge to remove stubborn marks but this spray was so powerful they simply disappeared with a damp sponge! It also has a lovely citrusy fragrance to it which is fresh and clean without being too overpowering.
The Bath Power bathroom cleaner specifically targets plaque, watermarks, calcium, limescale and soap scrum which makes it perfect for baths, shower screens, tiles, taps, toilets and glossy surfaces. As with Kitchen Power, a little goes a long way. I used this to clean my sink and it left it sparkling. I thought my bathroom was pretty clean until I lifted up the sink plug – if you’ve got a weak stomach, I advise you to look away now. I’m actually embarrassed by how filthy it is and I actually can’t remember ever lifting up since we moved in!
As you can see, the transformation is incredible. All I used was the Bath Power spray and an old toothbrush and just look at the finished result. I’ll sleep easier at night knowing that all that black gunk isn’t sitting in my bathroom sink.
Finally, Carpet Power is slightly different from the other two products. You spray it directly on the stain, gently work from the outside in with a damp cloth, leave for 5 minutes, rinse excess by gently pressing with a cloth and the aid of a little water and leave to dry. It also smells like lavender instead of citrus. It works on tea & coffee, red wine and per stains whilst eliminating unpleasant odours. It also works well on pen marks which I was surprised at. I actually took a bit of a gamble and used the carpet spray on my sofa. The arm where my little girl Penny sits with her hot chocolate every night is incredibly marked, as is the cushion next to it. As you can see below the spray removed all the stains and watermarks perfectly with very little effort on my part. Up until now, the only product I’ve found that lift watermarks this effectively was my white vinegar spray but not only does it have a very unpleasant smell, it takes A LOT of elbow grease on my part and I’ve always been a bit concerned that such vigorous scrubbing would damage the fabric. Carpet Power literally works within minutes and does all the hard work for you.
I’m incredibly impressed with all three products. They will make my life so much easier on the run-up to Christmas. They’re affordable, environmentally-conscious, easy to use and ACTUALLY WORK – what’s not to love?
