Welcome to The Beautiful Bluebird. It’s called that because years ago when I was first starting out and was absolutely clueless, I randomly started a craft and baking blog called ‘Roxie’s Pretty Things’ (I know, cringe) and I used a free template I found online and found a graphic of a cute little bluebird and for absolutely no reason whatsoever, I decided to plop him on there. He became my unofficial mascot. Years later, my blog has transformed, but the nod to that beautiful bluebird that was with me from the start reminds me of how far I’ve come and what I’ve learnt along the way. It reminds me of a time when blogging wasn’t a numbers game. Nobody really considered buying followers or using any other shady tactics at their disposal to get themselves on PR lists. It was about writing about topics you love and sharing it with the world. This is still very much the way I operate The Beautiful Bluebird. Yes, I am lucky (although I did work my little socks off) to receive PR, however, that will never affect my opinion. My reviews are 100% honest and transparent.
Anyone, back to me. Hello! My name is Roxie. I am a mama to two beautiful little girls (currently 2 years and 7 months) and I’m a beauty and lifestyle blogger based in Scotland. There’s not much to say really. I obviously have a huge passion for makeup and skincare, a love/hate relationship with Instagram (you can find me here), a slight obsession with Gilmore Girls and Harry Potter, I drink way too much coffee and my favourite way to spend my weekend is either cuddled up on the sofa with my girls or at the cinema stuffing my face with Ben & Jerry’s with my favourite guy. I hate getting my photo taken, which is why I try to avoid this at all cost, my spelling is awful (I apologise in advance for the many, many mistakes you’ve probably already spotted) and my blog is essentially a little part of the internet where I can escape to, especially when my anxiety is at it’s worst, to share my love for all things beauty, book and baby related.
